Salt Spring Island BC
Is it just me?
Does anyone else breathe more freely?
On island?
Surrounded by water?
I have discovered it doesn’t really matter which island.
Nor in which sparkling body of water it floats, like a gem.
The breaths are different.
Deeper.
I inhale down to my toes,
carelessly laughing as I exhale.
The minute the ferry sets sail towards Salt Spring Island BC, I feel the breezy gift infiltrating my body.

This is a beautiful spread you have created, very reflective of Island culture. But we live in unique times today and hope that visitors will be patient and not visit until the pandemic is under control. This summer may or may not provide the safety required to be truly welcoming.
Alison Browne says
Yes, we are living in unique times for over a year now. I appreciate your concern about the upcoming summer.
Elizabeth Richards says
I am sure you are aware of COVID-19 and the restrictions currently in place? I would not encourage travel to the island at this time. The island have limited resources and a small hospital and cannot sustain an outbreak. There is also a provincial wide band on travel right now because of COVID-19.
Please consider the residents and thier safety before posting something like this during a pandemic where we are supposed to be staying home.
Thank you.
Alison Browne says
