For the purposes of this article, I researched affordable hotels in Paris that are all in great locations for exploring the city, and offer excellent value for money. I kept two key criteria in mind:
- All of these hotels have review ratings of 8.5 or higher.
- These hotels have rates that range from approximately €120 per night to €300. Many fall around the €200 mark.

2. Affordable Hotels In Paris: Hôtel Malte-Astotel
63 rue de Richelieu, Paris 75002 (2nd arrondissement)

Hôtel Malte-Astotel is an affordable 4-star hotel situated in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, just a 10-minute walk to the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries. It is a mere minute to the newly renovated BNF Richelieu (stunning library). Its fabulous central location, 64 air-conditioned rooms, and interior courtyard make it a great choice for travellers visiting Paris.

5. Hôtel Monsieur Aristide

The Montparnasse neighbourhood is close to the Montparnasse Tower, the Luxembourg Gardens, and the Catacombs. The Hôtel Aiglon is located right by the Raspail metro station, making it easy to explore the rest of the city.

It is also only a 5-minute walk to Saint Germain des Prés. No wonder Hôtel Albe Saint Michel gets a 9.7 for location. It is also within walking distance of the Luxembourg Gardens and the Cluny Museum (one of my favourites).
There are 43 air-conditioned rooms at the Hôtel Albe Saint Michel that are decorated in a traditional Parisian style and some rooms offer a view of the Saint-Michel fountain or Notre Dame Cathedral. This affordable Paris hotel is easily accessible by public transportation, with several metro and RER stations nearby.
9. Best Affordable Hotels In Paris: Hôtel Moderniste
5 rue de Langeac, Paris 75015 (15th arrondissement)

Hôtel Moderniste, a newish affordable hotel in Paris, is located on a quiet street in the 15th arrondissement near the metro station Convention and the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre. The station Convention is on the Paris métro line 12 which means there is direct access (no metro line changes) to the 14th arrondissement at Montparnasse, the 6th and St. Germain des Prés, the 7th arrondissement and rue du Bac and Abbesses which is a great staying place to explore Montmartre!

Hôtel Monge, a charming boutique hotel, boasts a rich history that dates back to the 18th century when it was originally built as a private residence. Today, Hôtel Monge offers its guests an elegant and comfortable stay with its 30 beautifully designed rooms and wellness area including a hammam and spa. Some of its rooms overlook the Arènes de Lutece, Paris’s ancient Roman arena.

This affordable Paris hotel was renovated in 2022. The restaurant, open until 11 am, uses local ingredients to create its menus. The garden on the private rooftop terrace is the perfect tranquil place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Some of the rooms provide a peek at the Eiffel Tower.

Where to stay in Paris for cheap? For those looking for cheap accommodation in Paris, there are several hostels worth mentioning. Having stayed in many hostels while doing my solo travels in South America, I can honestly say that I always met interesting people of all ages. Be prepared to share a room and a bathroom!
